ARSENAL STILL KEEN ON EMENIKE

Despite investing over £50m in Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez the Metro on Tuesday claims that Arsenal are seriously considering making a £15m bid for Fenerbahce Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike.

The Super Eagles striker has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League for the best part of two years and has been a moderate success in Turkey but questions would be asked quite why Arsene Wenger would feel the need to target the former Spartak Moscow man.
Emenike scored 12 goals in 28 matches last season and picked up nine assists but given that both Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott are nearing returns from respective injuries there seems little reason to bring in another forward.
Emenike who is expected to start in Wednesday’s AFCON 2015 qualifier against Sudan is also receiving interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
