BARCELONA FC READY TO SELL MESSI...PSG AND REAL MADRID INTERESTED.

Form of Lionel Messi has not been good in the recent past and the according to a report in Spanish newspaper AS, FCBarcelona board is considering the sale of their biggest asset in the summer transfer window.

Metro has run a front page story today, claiming that it is no longer a taboo to talk in a Barçelona about Leo Messi’s possible sale next summer. However, the bet would be as risky as the unpopular and few would believe possible, even though opportunistic sound like, reality is what it is. PSG, Madrid, City and Chelsea are said to be interested in him. The release clause (200 million) would be “non-negotiable” part.
AS reports that the negotiations between Messi, his agent and Barca board are still going on over the contract extension of the player. Messi and his father hold the image rights and further asking for salary of 25 million euros. Barca management is still working on the economic impact of such huge salary on the future of the club and said to be reluctant to agree on this figure.
Messi’s recent lack of involvement on the pitch was on everyone’s lips off it during the azulgranas’ trip home from Valcencia. One of the most popular theories is that he has his mind firmly set on the World Cup. And they might be right. The Argentine, now never challenges for the ball, doesn’t get stuck in any tackle. It’s as if he is saving himself, not taking the risk of picking up any injury so close to this summer’s big event.
Only Leo himself knows if this is the truth or just idle gossip, but more and more people both inside and outside the Camp Nou are thinking that Messi has perhaps decided to throw in the towel with his club and throw in his luck with his country. It hasn’t been an easy year for ‘La Pulga’. It all started with his run-in with the taxman, which seemed to have left the player scathed.
Neymar’s arrival was also an unwelcome surprise, as he felt cheated by the club, which had assured him that the newbie would not be earning as much as he did. In the end, it was demonstrated to the whole world that the Brazilian was to earn the same, if not even more.
However, despite raising the questions over the future of the player, AS reporter Moses Llorens has clarified that Messi still loves the club and believes that money is not going to be the deciding factor of his future with the club. It is also being reported that Messi feels he owes his success to a club he joined at the age of 12.
THT Verdict:
It is no secret that the talks over Messi’s contract extension with Barca are not moving fast at the moment. But chances of Argentine leaving the Catalunya are remote at the moment.
