The World Cup final had the second most highest tweets per match, generating 32.1 million tweets, 3.5 million less than the semi-final between Brazil and Germany.
The final also set a new record for Tweets Per Minute (TPM) for an event, clocking 618,725 tweets at 6: 27 p.m. Brazil time.
