OOH FRANKIE

Frank Lampard netted Manchester City's equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea

A review of Sunday's action in the Barclays Premier League.

Chelsea's record goalscorer Frank Lampard repaid the adulation of the visiting fans who cheered his arrival as a Manchester City substitute by scoring a late equaliser for his new club in a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium.
The 36-year-old, on loan from City's Major League Soccer venture in New York, rescued a point for the hosts five minutes from time after an afternoon of frustration.
Lampard scored 211 times in 648 appearances for Chelsea so it was no surprise when his 78th-minute appearance off the bench was cheered to the rafters by the away supporters, already jubilant after Andre Schurrle's goal following Pablo Zabaleta's red card.
However, it was City fans who raised the roof when the former England midfielder turned home home man of the match James Milner's pass, although he predictably refused to celebrate.
His goal ended the Premier League leaders' 100 per cent record, but as Chelsea had arrived at the Etihad Stadium with a game plan not to lose it was probably, on balance, the most they deserved.

The Premier League newcomers found themselves 2-0 down thanks to Robin van Persie and a world-class finish from Angel Di Maria, who netted with a stunning chip over Kasper Schmeichel.
Leicester produced a sensational comeback to beat Manchester United 5-3 at the King Power Stadium.
But, however impressive United's Galacticos are on the attack, there remains big problems at the back and Leicester took full advantage to record their first home victory over the 20-time champions since 1985.
Leonardo Ulloa pulled one back before Ander Herrera's restored United two-goal cushion, but David Nugent scored from the spot after a needless foul by Rafael on Jamie Vardy.
Esteban Cambiasso made it 3-3 with a goal on his full debut to send the home fans into delirium.
Incredibly, Vardy handed the Foxes the lead 11 minutes from time and then United's day got worse when Tyler Blackett was sent-off for bringing down the dangerous former Halifax striker in the box.
Ulloa stepped up to convert from the penalty spot for his fifth goal of the season to lift Nigel Pearson's side into sixth spot with a famous 5-3 victory.
Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Everton 3-2 at Goodison Park and pick up their first win of the Premier League campaign.
The hosts dominated the early exchanges and deservedly went ahead in the ninth minute via Romelu Lukaku from Leon Osman's pass.

But Palace gradually came into the game and equalised through Mile Jedinak from the penalty spot after Tim Howard had fouled James McArthur in the box.
Yannick Bolasie hit the woodwork shortly before the break and Howard then failed to gather a cross from Martin Kelly to allow Frazier Campbell to head Palace's second from close range on 54 minutes.
Bolasie slotted home Jason Puncheon’s pass on 69 minutes to further extend Palace’s lead before Leighton Baines netted for Everton with a penalty.
But Julian Speroni pulled off a string of saves as the Eagles held on for a vital win.
Alan Irvine secured his first league win at the West Brom helm after deservedly overcoming Tottenham 1-0 at White Hart Lane.
It was a first victory at White Hart Lane for the Baggies since 1984 and one which looked likely from the outset, with Joleon Lescott denied a goal on an impressive debut after an unfortunate block by team-mate Craig Dawson.
West Brom should have had a first-half penalty when Emmanuel Adebayor handled a Dawson header, but they continued to press after the break in a confident display.
A header from Morrison, left unmarked at a corner by Erik Lamela, in the 74th minute proved the difference, condemning Spurs to back-to-back home defeats in the league for the first time since November 2012.
