LEGEND, ALAN SHEARER SPEAKS ABOUT MOURINHO AND UNITED
The Red Devils were in
fine form in the opening few games of the campaign following the Portuguese
coach’s appointment as they won their first four matches in all competitions.
United is having very inconsistent form this season
under jose mourinho, even with all the new recruits including world most
expensive player paul pogba who is still finding it difficult to get into his
best form since his arrival from juventus.
However, a run of three
successive defeats brought the Red Devils crashing back down to earth.
And although they returned
to winning ways in the Premier League with a 4-1 demolition of Leicester City,
they dropped more points when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Stoke City at Old
Trafford last weekend.
Mourinho has been tasked
with steering United back into the top four of the Premier League after he was
appointed as Louis van Gaal’s successor.
But former England and
Newcastle striker Shearer feels that United’s start has left a lot to be
desired this season.
Shearer told talkSPORT, “I would think he would
have expected a little bit more. He was very content with the players that he
brought in and they spent an absolute fortune again, so I think they’ve been
pretty disappointing up to now and they have got a lot of improving to do.”
