It would be hard to beat against it as the season reaches it's climax, after two stunning
results in the Premier League last night.
Title chasers Manchester City scraped a 2-2 draw at home to Sunderland, while Crystal
Palace won 3-2 at Everton, to hand Arsenal the initiative in the race for the top four.
Only four games remain for each side, but Everton boss Roberto Martinez has not given
up hope of Arsenal dropping points themselves, something he needs to happen if his
side are to get back into fourth spot.
He said after last night's defeat:
"You don’t expect to concede three
goals and win a
football match. Getting two goals should have been enough to win the game.

“We have 12 points to play for, we are close to fourth place and we are still in a good
position."
It was at this point he added that he was convinced the Gunners would drop points,
with Hull (a), Newcastle (h), West Brom (h) and Norwich (a) to play.

"I
don’t think Arsenal will take maximum points from their remaining games. After
the
weekend [dropping out of the top four] is a disappointment, but if you looked at the
start of the season, it’s a magnificent position."
For all his talk of Arsenal dropping points, it's Everton who have the tougher run-in.
They have both Manchester United and Manchester City to host, and now their winning
streak has been broken, doubts will begin to creep in.
Arsenal have a more comfortable set of fixtures, beginning with Hull City this weekend -
but wasn't the same said ahead of Everton's match with Crystal Palace last night?
