ARSENAL MAKE A £20M BID FOR BARCELONA STAR

Arsenal could land Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez this summer for a fee in the region of £20million.
According to reports in the Daily Mirror, the Spanish giants are planning to offload the silky attacker and the Gunners will be rivaled for his signature byJuventus.
The Chilean forward moved to La Liga in 2011 for €26million , having shone inSerie A with Udinese.
However, despite showing glimpses of his undoubted ability, the 25-year-old has often flattered to deceive, and the famously hard-to-please Catalan crowd have failed to take to him.
The Gunners have often lacked pace in their attack this season, with speedsterTheo Walcott missing the majority of the campaign through injury.
Sanchez is believed to be keen on a fresh start, although whether he would choose North London over Serie A champions Juventus remains to be seen.
Whilst the Turin club have won three consecutive titles, Sanchez may favor a move to a new league. And should the diminutive forward wish to know more about his prospective new club, former Gunners Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song – team-mates of Sanchez at Camp Nou – would be more than able to fill him in.
Having seen star players such as Mark Overmars, Emmanuel Petit, Thierry Henryand Alex Hleb – as well as Fabregas and Song – leave Arsenal for Barcelona, the move in the opposite direction would be a welcome sight for Gooners.
