Wenger
has given a very positive update on one of his injured players ahead of
the Premier League clash against Burnley.
The Gunners are
preparing for a trip to Turf Moor on Sunday after a run of eight games unbeaten
in all competitions which has seen them score 13 goals in only their last
four games.
Despite Arsenal’s
impressive form, injuries are always likely to be a concern especially
after Francis Coquelin limped off with what appeared to be a severe knee
problem last Saturday.
However, Wenger has
revealed that the Frenchman might not even miss the three weeks he was expected
to be out for.
“I think Coquelin is
looking much better than we expected, he had a test today but I still think he
will be short for Sunday.” the Arsenal manager said
“Because his ligament
was not damaged as we thought. He is keen to start again but we have to be
cautious.
“We have plenty of games
coming up but for us now we work in cycles of three, week by week we play three
games, so we have done Chelsea, Basel and it’s now to show that we can finish
well the week.”
