MARIO GOTZE TELL FRIENDS HE IS OFF TO MANCHESTER UTD

Mario Gotze what? Sorry, what? That was our reaction to a story doing the rounds in the Spanish transfer rumour mill.Fichajes in Spain, who are normally not among the worst of transfer outlets, say the Bayern Munich midfielder has already told those closest to him that he's off to Manchester United this summer.
It's claimed that Manchester United are willing to pay more than €40m and in doing so give Bayern Munich a profit on the €37m they paid Borussia Dortmund for the player last summer. There's little doubt that Gotze would be a tremendous signing for Manchester United, or anyone else, but this is one of the most unlikely transfer rumours we've heard in some time... which takes some effort.
Surely the only way Gotze would want a Bayern Munich exit is if he's had some kind of catastrophic fall-out with the club and Pep Guardiola. The Spanish manager's blue-eyed boy will be Thiago Alcantara and that could leave Gotze feeling a little less loved. Gotze isn't the star man at Bayern Munich and that may be an issue if he has a fragile ego, he's not been a 90 minute every game banker for Guardiola and comes off, relatively early, as a substitute in more than half of the games he starts. We're clutching at straws here!
At first we assumed Fichajes had got mixed up with names and were talking about Toni Kroos, but their mention of Bayern Munich recouping the money they paid Borussia Dortmund showed that wasn't the case.
After much of the British media were happy to run with fictional Gotze quotes on Kroos, some in Europe appear to be getting in on the act. Or, for those willing to consider anything to believe this transfer story, perhaps Gotze is the Bayern Munich mole who Guardiola and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge suggested would be kicked out of the club if uncovered.
